Privacy policy
Last updated October 2, 2026
Curivana is a learning app provided by NerdQuad (Jerry Crews). This policy describes the current private preview and this website. For privacy questions, contact jerry@nerdquad.com.
Learning stays on your device by default
The app saves learning attempts, answers, completion records, session checkpoints, and written reflections on your device. It also stores preferences such as your learning intention, selected course, weekly goal, and reminder schedule. You do not need to create a Curivana account.
Curivana has no advertising SDK, third-party behavioral analytics, or developer-operated learning-history backend. It does not read another app’s feed, messages, account, or usage. Reflections about your habits are information you choose to enter.
Optional Apple services
- iCloud: If you enable private progress sync in a supported build, learning records are stored in your private iCloud database through Apple CloudKit. Availability depends on your Apple account and device configuration. Turning sync off takes effect after restarting the app and does not delete data already in iCloud.
- Reminders: With your permission, the app schedules local notifications on your device.
- Widget: The app shares a next-lesson title and link and weekly session counts with its widget through local shared storage.
- Generated explanations: If you enable this feature on a compatible device, authored lesson text is processed using Apple’s on-device model. Curivana does not send it to a developer-operated AI service.
- Purchases: Purchases are disabled in the preview. Apple StoreKit is used for store access and entitlement handling where enabled. Any future paid edition will describe its purchase terms before purchase.
Apple’s operating-system diagnostics, backups, App Store services, and iCloud are also governed by your Apple settings and Apple’s privacy policy.
Export, import, and deletion
You can export or import learning history in Settings. Exports may contain answers and reflections; they leave the app only through the destination you choose. You control copies you export or share.
Settings → Delete learning history deletes learning attempts, completions, and reflections. With sync enabled, those deletions propagate when iCloud connects. Preferences and separately exported backups are not removed by this action. You can manage Apple-held backups and iCloud storage in your device settings.
Support messages
If you email us or send a content report, we receive the email address, message, and attachments you choose to provide. We use this information to respond, investigate problems, and correct content. We retain correspondence while needed for these purposes or applicable legal obligations. Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence. Please do not send sensitive information that is unnecessary to your request.
This website and external links
This website does not use advertising cookies, analytics scripts, or sign-up forms. Our AWS hosting server may record standard request information such as IP address, requested page, timestamp, and browser information to deliver the site and maintain security. Website requests are separate from your in-app learning history.
Lesson sources and other external links take you to independent websites with their own privacy practices. We do not control those sites.
Sharing and your choices
We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising. Information you send for support or in website requests may be processed by our hosting and email providers, or disclosed where required by law. You can choose not to use optional sync, reminders, or generated explanations and can contact us about information you have sent us.
Adults and policy changes
Curivana is intended for adults 18 and older. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us. We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date above.
